Reality Backup (2015)

was an experimental display of results from Minuting, a daily field-recording practice I have conducted ever since 2010, and part of a larger, On-Going Project. The mixed reality installation combined digital and analog elements. It featured 300 chronologically aligned visualizations of sound samples collected consistently over a period of the preceding 5 years. The display took the form of a horizontally evolving axis. Each waveform image functioned as a trigger for a sound sample accessibvle via an augmented reality application for mobile devices.

Curated by Alina Abdullayeva, the exhibition took place at Detroit Stockholm Gallery, November 18-22, 2015 and was followed by a sound performance based on the recordings and memories they evoked which were simultaneously typed and displayed on the wall.
