The exhibition Reality Backup was an experimental display of
my long-term sonic journaling practice conducted ever since 2010.
The mixed reality installation combined the digital with the analog, featuring 300 chronologically
aligned visualizations of sound samples collected consistently over a period of last 5 years. The display took the form of a horizontally evolving axis.
Each waveform image functioned as a trigger of a sound sample which could be accessed via an augmented reality application for mobile devices.
The exhibition at Detroit Stockholm Gallery, November 18-22, 2015, was followed by a performance - a memory walk
traversing the sonic database in a non-linear manner, juxtaposing various, familiar aural situations recorded across last five years of wanderings.
